Job Description

Job Title: Production Worker
Job Description

This role involves performing a variety of production and general labor tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will set up and operate machinery, handle and test raw materials, and support the production of concrete-based building products. The work is highly physical and takes place in a messy, wet, and very humid environment, requiring frequent lifting, bending, and moving around equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor duties throughout the production facility, including handling raw materials and finished products.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Test and inspect raw materials as needed to support the production process.
  • Work in messy, wet, and very humid conditions while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
  • Lift and move materials and products weighing up to approximately 35 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Crawl under and around machinery to perform cleaning, adjustments, or other required tasks safely.
  • Support the mixing of raw materials in the machine operation department to create concrete-based products.
  • Assist in the finishing department with tasks such as painting, sealing, and staining products according to order specifications.
  • Help in the shipping and receiving department by palletizing finished products and preparing them for shipment.
  • Operate or assist with forklift operations to move materials and finished goods within the facility, as needed.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to support a Zero Harm safety culture.
  • Maintain a consistent attendance record and demonstrate reliability and strong work ethic.
  • Participate in required safety and job training, including the initial safety training week.
Essential Skills
  • Ideally a minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing or working with large machinery and equipment.
  • Demonstrated past success in a manufacturing environment or in a business support crew role.
  • Understanding of safety policies and procedures, with a commitment to supporting a Zero Harm safety culture.
  • Solid work history that shows learning, job growth, and achievements over time.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit continuously throughout a 12-hour shift as required by the role.
  • Comfort working around bulk raw materials, moving equipment, and conditions associated with cement board manufacturing.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to approximately 35 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks such as crawling under and around machinery.
  • Stable employment history, with at least 6 or more months of experience with a single employer.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working in a paper mill environment (for example, large-scale paper manufacturing facilities) is a plus.
  • Experience with general labor, machine operation, or forklift operation in an industrial or production setting is beneficial.
  • Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Ability to adapt to working in messy, wet, and humid conditions while maintaining focus and productivity.
Why Work Here?

This is a direct placement opportunity in a stable manufacturing environment that supports long-term career growth. The company emphasizes safety through a strong Zero Harm culture and invests in thorough safety training before you begin full production work. You will have the chance to develop your skills with large-scale machinery and production processes while working within a structured schedule. The role offers the opportunity to build a consistent work history, gain valuable industrial experience, and grow with a team that values reliability, learning, and achievement.

Work Environment

The facility manufactures concrete-based building products and house siding used in the construction and home-building sector. Work takes place across three primary departments: a machine operation department where raw materials are mixed to create the product, a finishing department where products are painted, sealed, and stained according to order specifications, and a shipping and receiving department where finished products are palletized and prepared for shipment, often involving forklift operation. The environment is messy, wet, and very humid, with frequent exposure to bulk raw materials and moving equipment. The role requires frequent lifting of up to approximately 35 pounds and the ability to crawl under and around machinery. The schedule follows 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 rotating pattern, with a day shift from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and a night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Before starting full duties, employees complete a one-week safety training schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Appropriate work attire should be suitable for a physically demanding industrial environment with wet and messy conditions.
