Garage Traffic Safety Specialist (Ramp Operations) Albany NY

Keep Albany moving! Park Inc is seeking two vigilant reliable individuals to join our team at the Picotte Garage in Albany NY .

Essential garage repairs will begin in mid-June and last through at least the end of September that require the use of a single ramp for both entry and exit of vehicles. We need two dedicated specialistsone for the morning and one for the afternoonto take command of this traffic flow and ensure every driver gets in and out safely.

The Details

• Pay: $17.50 per hour.

• Shift Structure: Short high-energy shifts (approximately 5-6 hours per day).

• Schedule: 8:00 AM 6:00 PM window split between two people Monday through Friday. Must have flexibility to work either shift (morning/afternoon).

• Duration: Seasonal through September with potential for extension.

• Gear Provided: High-visibility safety vests are provided for all staff.

Key Responsibilities

This is a focused eyes-on role. You wont be handling cash or fixing machines; your priority is the safe movement of vehicles.

• Ramp Command: Manage the one-way traffic flow on the main ramp to prevent vehicle conflicts.

• Visual Communication: Use clear hand signals and a professional presence to direct drivers.

• Safety Advocacy: Act as the primary safety lookout for both our customers and the garage repair crews.

• Active Engagement: You will be standing and active for the duration of your shift working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Who We Are Looking For

• Self-Starters: Since youll be the sole attendant on-shift we need someone who is confident and can work independently.

• Reliability: With a single-lane ramp your presence is critical. We need team members who are consistently on time.

• Alertness: You have a sharp eye for traffic patterns and potential hazards.

• Professionalism: You can communicate firmly but politely with drivers to keep them moving smoothly.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Customer Service Skills: Friendly professional and able to handle guest concerns effectively.
• Communication Skills: Clear and courteous when interacting with guests and team members.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods walk bend kneel or climb if needed.
• Work Environment: Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions (rain snow heat cold etc.).
• Team Player: Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional Appearance: Must be neatly groomed and presentable.
• Reliability: Punctuality and a stable work history are essential.
