Careerscape is actively recruiting an IT Systems Administrator on behalf of a reputable information technology company based in Philadelphia. This is an excellent remote opportunity for experienced IT professionals ready to take ownership of critical infrastructure. You'll manage and optimize enterprise systems, ensure network reliability, and play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain servers, networks, and enterprise systems across Windows and Linux environments
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, user accounts, and access permissions
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot outages, and implement solutions to minimize downtime
• Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and security updates on a regular schedule
• Oversee backup and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity
• Configure and manage cloud infrastructure across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Collaborate with security, development, and support teams on infrastructure projects and initiatives
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations and standard operating procedures

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in systems administration or a related infrastructure role
• Strong proficiency in Windows Server and Linux administration
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management
• Working knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
• Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or similar certification preferred
