Note: The ideal candidate will have Native or Near-Native German language proficiency with immersion pedagogy, will have a high-quality and inclusive instructional practice, strong collaboration, communication, and professional responsibility.
Deliver high-quality, full-immersion instruction to elementary students. The teacher is responsible for teaching core academic subjects—including mathematics, science, and social studies—entirely in German, aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. This role requires native or near-native German proficiency, strong instructional and classroom management skills, and a deep commitment to student growth in a culturally inclusive environment.
The German Immersion Teacher designs engaging, student-centered lessons, differentiates instruction to meet diverse learner needs, and uses multiple forms of assessment to monitor and support academic progress. The position also emphasizes collaboration with immersion colleagues across languages, consistent communication with families, and active participation in a nationally recognized immersion program that promotes multilingualism, global citizenship, and academic excellence.
