In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the salary reduction.

Working Conditions

  • Additional activities may include climbing stairs, standing long hours, as well as some bending, stooping or light lifting. Statewide travel may be required up to 5% and may include overnight stays.  Report to Martell as needed.

STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS

This non-confidential Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is designed to elicit information regarding each applicant’s abilities, knowledge, and experience in relation to the Policy Analyst II position within CAL FIRE Statewide Training.  

Please submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for the hiring manager’s review.  Your SOQ will be considered the first interview for this position and applications without an SOQ will not be considered.  If your qualifications are competitive, you will be invited to come in for an in-person interview.  When completing the SOQ, please include specific examples and explain your responses thoroughly.   Your SOQ should be no longer than two (2) pages, single spaced with 12 pt. Arial font with one (1) inch margins and submitted in Word version only.
