Job Description

Careerscape is hiring a Remote Senior HR Manager for an NYC-based technology company with a fully distributed workforce. This remote senior HR manager job is ideal for experienced human resources leaders who can shape people strategy, lead employee relations, and partner with executives to scale a high-performing organization.

As a Senior HR Manager, you'll own performance management, compensation planning, multi-state compliance, and employee relations while serving as a trusted advisor to leaders and managers across the business. You'll work with modern HRIS platforms, partner closely with Talent Acquisition and Legal, and help shape the culture of a growing remote-first company.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic HR business partner to senior leaders and people managers
  • Lead employee relations, including investigations, conflict resolution, and complex performance issues
  • Own and improve performance management programs, including review cycles and calibration
  • Partner on compensation planning, leveling, promotions, and equity refresh cycles
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple U.S. states
  • Build and scale people programs in onboarding, engagement, retention, and manager development
  • Manage and mentor a small team of HR or People Operations professionals
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Finance, and Legal on workforce planning and policy
  • Use HRIS and people analytics to surface insights and inform decision-making

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with 2+ years managing direct reports
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law and multi-state compliance
  • Experience supporting employees and managers in a fully remote or distributed company
  • Proven track record of leading employee relations matters with sound judgment and discretion
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (Workday, BambooHR, Rippling, Justworks, or similar)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret people data and turn it into action
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive presence
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
  • Experience at a high-growth startup or scaling tech company
  • Background supporting technical or sales organizations
  • Familiarity with global or international HR considerations
