The Medical Transport Specialist reports directly to the Registered Nurse, then to the HCS Program Manager. This person primarily provides health and medical support to those receiving services through Community Homes for Adults, Inc.

In addition to the above, the Medical Transport Specialist is expected to: Demonstrate competence in driving the agency vehicle and show insurability. Provide a valid Texas Driver’s License. Where applicable, maintain current insurance on own
Qualifications: Employees must have and present a high school diploma or equivalency. They must have at least 1 year of work experience with the IDD community plus references to substantiate this time. The ideal candidate will have previous experience DSP/QIDP in the field of IDD. Medical degree and/or certification is not required. They must be 18 years old, meet and maintain the criteria listed above.
Language Ability: The Medical Transport Specialist must be able to read and interpret documents such as evaluations from referring agencies, schools, psychological evaluations, progress notes from direct care staff, and clinicians, after-visit summaries, etc. They must be able to write reports and provide documentation to be sent to outside agencies. They must be able to present verbally to the Interdisciplinary Team and be able to converse and interpret information to the individual in a manner consistent with his or her level of understanding.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, the Medical Transport Specialist will require the ability to use the computer in word processing, the internet for research, email and software as it relates to the needs of the individuals.
