Job Description

Job Title: Instrument Assembly Technician III

Location: Sparks, MD

Duration: 12 Months

Shift: Monday Friday | 7:00 AM 3:30 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Instrument Assembly Technician III to assemble, integrate, test, troubleshoot, and repair complex electromechanical instruments in a regulated manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical assembly skills, the ability to read engineering drawings, and experience using precision hand tools while ensuring compliance with GMP and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and integrate electromechanical instruments and sub-assemblies.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Perform wiring, cable harnessing, component installation, and hand soldering.
  • Use torque drivers, gauges, measuring instruments, and other precision hand tools.
  • Conduct functional testing, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Record device history, serial numbers, and production documentation.
  • Identify assembly defects and recommend process improvements.
  • Train and mentor production associates as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or instrument assembly experience, or an Associate Technical Degree with 1 year of experience.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using torque drivers, gauges, bits, and precision tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electromechanical assemblies.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Windows.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
Preferred Skills
  • Electromechanical or medical device assembly experience.
  • Hand soldering and cable harnessing experience.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience with quality inspections, testing, and GMP documentation.
