Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe Developer for a Contract with a client in Alpharetta, GA. You will design and modernize mission‑critical banking systems while bringing strong mainframe engineering expertise essential for this role .
Rate Range: $30/hour to $37/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Mainframe Developer job responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and enhance COBOL programs, JCL workflows, and DB2/VSAM datasets supporting core banking, payments, and trade‑processing functions.
Build, maintain, and optimize CICS transactions for customer servicing, payment processing, and trade booking workflows.
Develop Python automation utilities for batch orchestration, file/stream processing (SWIFT, ISO 20022, FIX), and data validation including AML/KYC checks.
Implement Python-based ETL pipelines and integration scripts connecting mainframe systems with microservices, data lakes, and downstream analytics platforms.
Ensure regulatory compliance, auditability, and operational resiliency across all development and modernization efforts.
Support modernization and migration initiatives by enabling data pipelines, API integrations, and automation to improve efficiency and reliability.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5–8 years of experience in mainframe application development and modernization within BFSI environments.
Strong proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2/VSAM, and CICS for large‑scale banking or payments systems.
Hands‑on experience with Python for automation, data processing, API integration, or ETL pipelines.
