WASTE TRUCK HELPER

Location: Bolivar peninsula, Tx 77650 Hours: 8 am - 5 pm Mon - Fri Pay rate: 16.00 - 17.00

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist driver in providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely load waste by carrying bags and containers to the vehicle for disposal Assist the driver in maneuvering the vehicle by directing the driver from the ground Ride on the vehicle to assist the Driver while servicing customers on a designated route. Operate packing mechanism and various levers and handles to activate the lifting and loading mechanism Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip; spray and clean the hopper and truck, if applicable Follow all safety standards and wear the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings Reports any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage. Courteously interact with all customers, dispatchers, and others daily to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste Clean area around an accidental waste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, as well as the on the route and in the work area Perform other job-related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 6 months experience working in a fast-paced environment Exposure to working in all-weather elements preferred High-energy individual with a strong work ethic Ability to work in a physically demanding setting Attention to detail and good time management skills Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with others Ability to use good judgment to carry out detailed instructions Must have reliable transportation (Good Attendance is a must) Must possess basic mathematical skills Basic computer knowledge preferred

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent
