Job Description

Chick-fil-A Crossroads Center is looking for candidates to join our Culinary and Hospitality Internship Program. The position is a paid internship taking place over the course of one semester with the possibility to extend. We are looking for the best and brightest students to strengthen our team and who want to apply classroom knowledge in a fast-paced and growing industry setting, implement new ideas, and be constantly challenged and develop your skills. As a Culinary and Hospitality Intern at Chick-fil-A Crossroads Center, you will get the opportunity to work with our Kitchen/Back of House Team. This team is the \engine\ of the restaurant and is where the guest experience starts. Overview

  • Assist in maintaining food quality and food safety standards
  • 5-10 hours/week dedicated to food safety and quality responsibilities
  • 10-15 hours/week dedicated to Back of House Operations
  • Paid internship – starting at $14/hour
  • Duration: One semester with the possibility to extend
  • Internship Dates: January 2024 - May 2024, May - August 2024, September - December 2024
  • Potential for course credit

Candidate Requirements

  • Actively working to complete an undergraduate degree
  • Able to work a minimum of 15-25 hours/week
  • Undergraduate students 2nd year and above preferred
  • Authorized to work in United States of America and fluently speak English

Roles & Responsibilities

Food Quality

  • Perform eRQAs (food quality assessments) a minimum of three times per week and share corresponding data along with recommended corrective actions in a weekly email to Leadership Team
  • Perform Mock Quality Improvement Visit one week prior to quarterly scheduled inspections and share results with Back of House Leadership
  • Support store leaders by coaching fellow Team Members to maintain good food quality practices

Food Safety

  • Complete SAFE Daily Critical Assessments three times per week and share corresponding data along with recommended corrective actions in a weekly email to Leadership Team
  • Earn ServSafe Manager Certification
  • Complete monthly Mock Health Inspections and share data providing required corrective actions to store leaders
  • Collaborate with store leaders in developing and enhancing food safety systems in the restaurant, including a Food Safety Checklist
  • Complete Food Safety Checklist at least 3 times per week and take required corrective actions – Summarize findings in weekly email
  • Support leadership by coaching fellow Team Members to maintain good food safety practices

Professional Development

  • One-on-one developmental meetings with Executive Director monthly
  • Prepare weekly email updates for Leadership Team summarizing food quality and safety findings and corrective actions taken
  • Routine meetings and professional development with Internship Coordinator

Back of House Operations

  • Work as a Back of House Team Member 10-15 hours/week
  • Model excellent food safety and food quality practices while working in operations
  • Provide feedback and innovation to management in regard to improving food safety and quality in the restaurant
