JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining accurate job cost accounting records and supporting comprehensive budget management across construction projects. Works closely with cross‑functional teams to monitor project expenditures, analyze budget variances, and uphold the integrity of financial data throughout monthly and annual reporting cycles. Key duties include preparing, reviewing, and analyzing budget information in alignment with fiscal policies; managing requisition and purchase order approvals; opening, revising, and closing jobs; and contributing to the development of annual budget proposals and quarterly reviews. This role also produces detailed monthly construction reports to inform organizational planning and strategic decision‑making.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Maintains job, and project estimates; updates information in job costing system; and analyzes monthly progress.
• Reviews requisitions for accuracy and completeness; approves requisitions/POs; verifies availability of funds; applies proper account coding when necessary; analyzes budget variances; processes budget revisions; and coordinates with various departments to resolve budgetary issues.
• Processes budget revisions and ensures all changes have proper director and executive approvals.
• Assists in annual budget preparation as well as quarterly budget review and reporting.
• Assists end-users with use of JD Edwards regarding requisitions and budgeting.
• Prepares and distributes monthly construction reports.
• Processes a variety of documentation associated with Department/Division operations within designated timeframes and per established procedures; receives and reviews various documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of Department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records.

• Performs other assigned duties.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or a related field; two (2) years of related work experience in accounting, accounts payable, and budget preparation and monitoring; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all CCWA or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as light work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, one must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities. If someone can do light work, then he or she can also do sedentary work, unless there are additional limiting factors such as loss of fine dexterity or inability to sit for long periods of time.
• Tasks may involve some pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight; tasks may also involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
